{Weekend Recap} Friday Night Fun & Fall Festivals

Well another weekend has came and gone. My how fast they fly by these days. We had a wonderful weekend filled with fun, friends, and family. Which as you all know is my favorite way to spend the weekend. And can I just add the weather could not have been more perfect. We had the perfect glimpse into fall with temperatures in the 60's at night and 70's during the day time. That bit of chill is finally making it into the air and this girl couldn't be more excited :D But on to our weekend...

Friday I did something I never do. I worked LATE! Last week was filled with testing all week which didn't leave me a ton of time to tackle my to-do lists at work. So in turn, I decided since my house was clean, Kevin was at work, and all my to-do lists were caught up at home, I'd spend some extra time at work getting things accomplished. So that's exactly what I did. When I walked out the door at ten minutes until five on Friday, I left with my entire to-do list complete. It's so nice knowing I'll walk into work tomorrow with a fresh slate. There's really no better way to start a week than that.

Friday evening, we headed downtown to meet up with the family and some friends for the monthly cruise in. As I've mentioned before, out town hosts a car show, concert, and festival event the second Friday of every month during April- October. It's something we love to partake in because we get to see so many people we know that we don't run into at any other time. We also get to eat at a local cafe that usually is only open for lunch each day but extends their hours on the days of the car show. And truth be told, I really enjoy the event for that mostly (; Otherwise, I never get the opportunity to eat there. haha

Saturday morning I was up bright and early and decided to spend my morning with my nose in a book while Harper slept. Sometime around 10 I put the book down and headed to Harper's room to wake her up. After getting ready, we headed out the door to pick up my friend B and then meet my parents for brunch at our usual Saturday morning spot, The Farmer's Table. Following lunch Harper and I ran by the ATM and then picked up my mother-in-law so we could head to one of our local high school's for their annual fall festival.

We spent most of the afternoon at the festival. Harper had a blast and for just $10 she got to participate in all of the festivities. Best money I've spent in a long time. This kid wore her grandma and me out. I can't tell you many times she went up and down the giant slide or had to ride the train around the parking lot.

Before leaving we browsed the vendors who were there. We walked away with slices of homemade pound cake, fresh squeezed lemonade, and a huge blooming onion. Who can say no to festival food? Lord knows this girl can't.

When Kevin got home from work, we headed out to grab a stromboli and salads for dinner. Then we came home and the three of us curled up in bed and watched an episode of Mickey before we called the night to an end.

Yesterday was spent as it usually is. We headed to church and followed it up with a delicious lunch at Mom and Dad's. We ended up hanging around for most of the afternoon.

Of course as is the usual, we couldn't leave before Harper got a chance to feed the birds with Papa... something she looks forward to during each visit.

The rest of the evening was spent at home. My mother-in-law came over around dinner time and she and Harper spent the evening outside while I added 500 photos from the year to my facebook account. I wish I was kidding. Kevin grabbed tacos for us on his way home from work. After chowing it down he was back out the door to head to church to play basketball with my brother and some of the guys which left me to do our nighttime routine. Which is okay by me. Sometimes I enjoy some girl time with my favorite two year old (: After all, she's a mama's girl!

Hope your weekends were filled with all things fall, family, friends, and fun!
