Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 26 weeks

Baby Size: She's the size of a hothouse cucumber! In everyday terms, she is right around 14 inches and weighs about 1.75 pounds.

Total weight gain: I'm guessing around 12 pounds. It seems to fluctuate each day though!

Maternity clothes? I purchased quite a few maternity pieces over the weekend since they were on clearance for next to nothing. I have been wearing the maternity pants over the last few days because they are much more comfortable than my other pants that I'd been wearing. My pre-maternity pants all fit but they were starting to get snug. But thankfully, I'm still wearing my regular shirts and dresses so I still feel normal!

Stretch marks? Nope but I was told to start applying cocoa butter twice a day now since my belly is growing more and more each night! Let's hope that will continue to keep them away!

Sleep:  I've been sleeping wonderfully! As soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out like a light! Thankfully, I'm only waking up once or twice during the night, if at all, and I'm able to fall right back asleep!

Best moment this week:  Kevin and I had our first date night in forever. We went to dinner and did a little shopping afterwards. It's been a while since we've had a date night and when Harper comes along, they'll be few and far between. But for now, we're soaking up all the moments we have of just us two! Also this week, we purchased some more items for Harper's nursery and I can't wait to get those added to her room!

Miss Anything? Nothing this week!

Movement: She moves non stop now! She used to only move around at night but now I feel her more and more throughout the day. Her kicks have become increasingly stronger and I can actually see my stomach shoot out when she kicks hard enough! It's the strangest but coolest thing ever!

Food cravings: I still am loving my sweet tea!

Anything making you queasy or sick: No

Gender: A girl {HLH}

Labor Signs:  Not yet... Let's hope those hold off for at least another 10 weeks!

Symptoms: Thankfully I haven't been battling indigestion and acid reflux as much this week! Hallelujah! However, the round ligament pain has continued but thankfully it isn't as painful as it was last week. I'm still a bit concerned about it's intensity and and how persistent it is but the doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned!

Belly Button in or out? Still an inny!

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Mood:  Happy and Excited!

Looking forward to: Working some more on Harper's nursery over the weekend! I'm going to officially try to tackle her closet and get it organized and to my liking! She has so many clothes that she's been given that have just been laying in the floor because I haven't had time to clean out the closet in her room!

Weekend Bargains: Maternity Edition

It's been quite a few months since I've done a weekend bargain post but after the bargains I snatched up this weekend, I had to share with you ladies...especially you preggo ones! Over the weekend, I broke down and purchased some of my first maternity pieces. I was hoping to make it to the spring without buying any maternity clothes because I knew if I waited to the spring, I would have enough clothes that could serve as maternity pieces (i.e. knit dresses, maxi dresses, and super loose shirts and blouses) to get me through my pregnancy. Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, I've noticed my jeans have been getting snugger and snugger and I knew that I wasn't gonna make it to warmer weather without purchasing a few pairs of maternity pants to hold me over until dress and skirt season. So when Saturday rolled around, a friend of mine and I headed to Greensboro to do a little shopping. My plan was to go to the mall but after passing the sign for Target, Brittni and I decided to stop there first. Thankfully we did because I scored big time and bought a bunch of items for practically nothing! I saved so much that I was able to splurge on some bigger items at other stores!!! (: Win-win!

Here are my Saturday weekend bargain purchases (:

Coral V-Neck Tee: $7 (Target)
Gray/ White 3/4 sleeve tee: $9 (Target)
Blue long sleeve tee: $9 (Target)
Burgundy blouse with gold beading:  $6 (Target)
Royal Blue Dress: $10 (Target)
Gray Dress: $!0 (Target)
Magenta Dress: $10 (Target)
Black Pencil Skirt: $7 (Target)
Black Bootcut Dress Pants: $35 (Target)... These weren't on sale but I loved them so I had to get them since they were an absolute perfect fit and they only had one or two pairs left in my size!
Black Fleece Lined Leggings: $5 (Ross)
Urban Fit Skinny Leg Jeans: $40 (Motherhood)... I decided to splurge on these because they were the perfect fit as well! I also chose to buy skinny leg jeans because I could cuff them to be ankle pants or capris so I figured I'd get more use out of them in comparison to a regular pair of jeans.
Khakis: $27 (Motherhood) I purchased a pair of khakis at Target but tried these on at Motherhood and chose to purchase these and return the ones from Target. These fit much better and seemed to be more of a khaki color in comparison to the ones at Target. The ones from Target were more of a brownish gray. It didn't help that they were also $8 cheaper!
Royal Blue Pencil Skirt: $7 (Target)

I had no intention of buying maternity dresses or shirts but when I saw that they cost practically nothing, I couldn't talk myself out of it. I mean, who could blame me?! haha  Anyone else have any luck scoring any good deals on maternity clothes lately?

Dressing the Bump: OOTD

When I found out I was pregnant, I decided not to continue my weekly OOTD posts. I didn't figure people would care for maternity OOTD's. But after a while of wearing the same boring outfits, I decided to search pinterest for some maternity outfit inspiration for this growing bump. To my disappointment, there wasn't much out there. So I decided to change that little fact and decided to add some maternity style ideas and OOTD's to the blogosphere and the internet world. So voila...here are my outfits over two last weeks! Please note that none of the items I am wearing are actually maternity items as I'm still able to wear my current clothes.

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 25 weeks

Baby Size: She's the size of a rutabaga... like anyone knows what that is! In everyday terms, she is somewhere between 13 and 14 inches long and weighs about 1.5 pounds.

Total weight gain: I'm slowly gaining the weight! I've gained somewhere between 10-12 pounds! It seems each week it goes up and up!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I tried on a few maternity items over the weekend but they all swallowed me whole. I guess I'm in that in between stage!

Stretch marks? Not a one.

Sleep:  Ahhh! I'm loving sleep and I'm back to going to bed early so by the time my alarm clock goes off, I'm already awake! It's a great feeling!

Best moment this week:  Feeling Harper move around so much more! Also, purchasing Harper's glider and ottoman for her nursery!

Miss Anything? I could still do without the indegestion but if she comes out with a head full of hair, it'll all be worth it! haha

Movement: She's starting to move alot these days! Still mostly at night though!

Food cravings: Sweet tea and frosted flakes!

Anything making you queasy or sick: No

Gender: She's a girl! Harper Londyn Holt!

Labor Signs:  Thank goodness no! We had a scare over the weekend and thought I had gone into preterm labor. Thankfully, I just have a rare and extreme form of round ligament stretching. Unlike most people's rls, mine lasts for hours at a time and is the equivalent to feeling like I'm being stabbed to death. It's definitely no fun but by the time contractions roll around, I should be good with pain! haha

Symptoms: Indegestion and round ligament stretching

Belly Button in or out? In and it's still getting smaller

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Mood:  Happy

Looking forward to: Going back to the doctor in two weeks to see Harper!

Baby Size: She's a little over a foot long and weighs about 1 1/4 pounds.

Total weight gain: Right around 10 pounds. I think I put on 3 pounds just last week!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I did go try on some maternity dresses over the weekend but they all looked huge on me since my bump isn't all that big right now.

Stretch marks? Not yet but I'm still relying on the cocoa butter to do it's trick.

Sleep:  I've finally gotten back into a good sleep routine. Thank you Lord!

Best moment this week:  We've had a few this week! We got to go check on Harper on Friday and finally got to see her face. We also completed her baby registry over the weekend. And I finally pre-registered at the hospital (something they asked me to do three months ago! haha)

Miss Anything? Less indegestion! haha

Movement: Some days more than others but always at night! She's apparently going to be our little night owl!

Food cravings: Nothing particular.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nah.

Gender: A girl! Harper Londyn Holt!

Labor Signs:  A few braxton hicks contractions here and there.

Looking forward to:  A long weekend to work on Harper's nursery some more!

Registering for Baby Harper

Over the weekend, my best friend, Alyson, and I headed to our local Babies R Us and registered for little Miss Harper doodle! Thankfully I had done a lot of research prior to my visit and was able to register for most everything online. However, I wanted to go to the store itself to register for the bigger items such as the stroller, car seat, and pack and play  so I could test them out to see which I preferred best. All in all, our registry experience was pretty smooth sailing and stress free! I double checked the items I had previously registered for online to make sure that was in fact what I wanted. In the end, our visit only took an hour and Harper's registry is now complete! Here are some of the items that made the cut! Most of the items I registered for came from great recommendations from close family and friends or were items recommended on blogs I read. If there is something I left off or something you've found that you too love out of the items listed below, please share your experiences!

The following are 18 items that made the cut and why I chose them (:

1. Boppy Pillow: This was the number one item on my registry list! When the triplets were born, these were lifesavers! They worked great as arm rests when we were holding the boys as they napped (those heads do get heavy after a while). They also worked great as the boys got older and we propped them in the boppy just to play or to feed them their bottles. Along with registering for the pillow itself, I registered for a couple of adorable boppy pillow covers (:

2. Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bibs: I chose to register for these bibs because I liked the high collar of them. They fit close to a baby's neck as opposed to being loose like a normal bib. I always hate when you're bottle feeding a baby and the milk starts running down their chins and necks and ends up staining and soaking the tops of their little outfits. You can try using burp cloths but even then it doesn't catch all of the running milk. My hope is that these bibs will work as great as they're supposed to and we can avoid lots of soiled clothes after feedings!

3. Dr. Brown's wide neck bottles: I registered for a few packs of these bottles just in case I'm not able to breastfeed and I need to have them on hand. Everyone I know uses Dr. Brown's bottles and had great experiences so I didn't even consider any other types of bottles.

4. Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breastpump: This was another easy item to register for. At first, I had no clue as to what type of pump to purchase as I've never had to use one before. So I set out to reading every breastfeeding blog post out there and started asking breastfeeding mothers their opinions. Everyone had the same answer..."the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breastupump". So with all of it's rave recommendations, I added it to my list. I just hope its as good as everyone says it is!

5. Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack: First off, I chose this item because it was a must have on several of the new mommy blogs that I read. Secondly, I chose it because it's absolutely adorable and so much cuter than all of those standard bottle drying racks. Who wants a drying rack that's plain, white, and spins, when you can have one that looks like a yard and can even be decorated with little flowers and mushrooms to hold pump parts?! Definitely not me!

6. Moby Wrap: Initially I didn't plan to register for a baby carrier or wrap but after talking to several moms who made excellent arguments, I changed my mind. I was told a carrier or wrap works great for those days when your baby wants to be close by but you need to get things done around the house. It allowed your baby to be close but for you to be hands free. I was also told they work great for those times when you're out and about in public and don't want to deal with the hassle of carrying around a stroller or car carrier. Thinking these are great points, I decided to add one to my registry list. I chose the Moby Wrap because it's lightweight and would work great in the summer without Harper getting to hot. I also liked that you can wrap it different ways to allow her to be placed in different positions. A normal carrier isn't as flexible.

7. Aden & Anais swaddle blankets: Every new mom's list on the blogosphere raves about these little babies so I figured they were a must. After seeing and feeling them at the store, I can see why!

8. Cocalo Perfect Swaddle: I chose to register for these as well as the Aden & Anais swaddle blankets because I thought these would be easier for the hubby to use since they're pre-folded and you pretty much just stick baby's feet in the bottom and wrap the top part over the baby's body and velcro it. He thanked me when I told him about it (: lol

9. Diaper Genie Elite: I know some people who use these and others who thought they were a waste but despite those few who didn't like them, I decided to try it out. My goal is to only use it for dirty diapers and place all the wet ones in a trash can but we'll see how that goes!

10. Summer Infant Privacy Plus Slim and Secure Plus Digital Color Video Monitor: I was torn between what monitor to register for. It wasn't until after going to Babies R Us that I decided on this one. I started reading reviews about it and it's one of the top recommended monitors and it's pretty reasonably priced compared to some of the others so I finally settled on it. Any other mommies out there who uses this one?

11. Graco Pack 'n Play with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat: I saw this pack and play online a few months after finding out I was pregnant with Harper. As soon as I read about it, I knew it was without a doubt the pack and play I'd register for. I love the fact that it includes a changing table, a diaper storage area, as well as a vibrating rocking seat that can be removed and carried around the house. It's the ultimate package all in one and I think it's gonna work great when Harper's first born. My goal is to set it up in our bedroom so that I have everything I need right there with us. If Harper's having a hard time of sleeping, I can prop her in the rocking seat until she falls asleep or I can remove it and just put her in the packing play if she goes straight to sleep. I also have somewhere to change her without having to carry her into her room and use the changing station in there. On top of that, it will save us alot of space in our car when we travel to the beach in July because we can just take it with us and we'll have her bed, changing area, and something to occupy her!

12. Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System Stroller: Knowing that Kevin and I are going to have to give up our gym days when Harper arrives, we knew we wanted to purchase a jogging stroller so that we could at least run in our neighborhood. I wanted a jogging stroller that was a travel system and would fold up easily and didn't take up alot of room. Fortunately for me, Babies R Us didn't have a large selection of jogging stroller travel systems. After looking at the few they had, we decided on this one because we liked the idea of using black and purple. It was girly enough but could be used later on if we had a boy. We also liked that this stroller included a large storage rack on the bottom; along with two cup holders for the parents and a storage compartment to hold our keys and cell phones. And did I mention it has built in speakers and a place for you to plug up an mp3 player? How cool is that?!

13. Crane Cool Mist Humidifier: When I think about things that babies need, I didn't ever even consider a humidifier. It wasn't until after I was reading new mama's must haves on blogs that I realized they're pretty important. After several new moms recommended this one, I decided to try it out as well. Plus it doesn't help that it's super cute compared to the other ones out there!

14. The First Years Sounds for Silence Premium Sound Machine: I registered for this only because alot of moms suggested it. I'm not sure how often I'll use it but who knows, I may figure out that it's something I can't live without!

15-17. Fisher Price My Little Lamb Collection (swing, bouncer, rock and play sleeper): I loved how cute these three items were! I loved the neutral colors that would blend in our living room and could be used with Harper or a little boy if we ever had one in our future. To top it off, the bird mobiles on the bouncer and swing are absolutely adorable! I wasn't planning on registering for the rock and play sleeper but after seeing how portable it was, I thought it would work great to move from room to room and from grandparents to grandparents house when we're out visiting for long periods of time!

18. Skip Hop Versa Diaper Bag: Knowing that I'll eventually stop carrying a purse because I'll be lugging around a diaper bag, I wanted a diaper bag that didn't look like a diaper bag. When I stumbled across this diaper bag on pinterest, I fell in love with it. It looked just like a purse, was pretty good sized, and included compartments for both mom and baby! It was perfect! It's definitely an item that I'll be purchasing if I don't receive it!

Well those are the main items that made the cut for our baby registry, what made yours?!

Total weight gain: I'm guessing 7 pounds.

Stretch marks? Not so far! Still applying the cocoa butter at night!

Sleep: I'm back to going to sleep early and I sleep like a baby until about 3am each morning and then I can't go back to sleep! I should be used to this whole running on a few hours of sleep thing by the time Harper gets here!

Best moment this week:  Putting her nursery together!

Miss Anything? Sleep haha

Movement: Well she hasn't been squirming around as much lately; I'm guessing due to the fact that the way my uterus is, she's running out of room. But she does choose to let her presence be known between 7-10pm each night. Apparently, she's going to be a night owl (:

Food cravings: Still loving those ice cold Coke's

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope and thankfully, I haven't had as much trouble with my indigestion (knock on wood!)

Nursery Sneak Peek

Over the weekend, Kevin and I worked on Harper's nursery. Saturday morning, we got up early and moved the bedroom furniture out of her room and moved it down the street into my brother-in-law's apartment for him to use in his spare bedroom. We were so thankful he had room for it and could use it since we had no where to store it!

After we got her room cleared out, we headed to Greensboro to pick up her baby furniture. Thank the Lord my father-in-law volunteered to drive his SUV to Greensboro in case we needed him to bring anything back because when we got there we were amazed at how big the furniture we had ordered really was in actuality. When the people brought the boxes of furniture out both mine and Kevin's eyes popped out real big! The furniture boxes were huge! They were so big in fact that the only way to get two of the three in our truck was to stand them straight up! Thankfully the smallest box was just the perfect size for the back of the in-laws Explorer. Had the box been an inch longer or wider, we'd have had to have made two trips to Greensboro that day! lol And after driving home on the highway going 15 under what I usually go in fear of the furniture flipping out of the truck, my nerves were shot and I wouldn't have made it back to Greensboro for a round #2! lol But in the end it all worked out.

Thanks to Kevin's family's help, we got Harper's furniture set up and her bedding on her bed. I was so excited to see how well all of the pieces worked out in her room and seemed to just fit perfectly where we wanted them. I was hoping to do just one overall nursery reveal post but it's going to be a while before I have everything the exact way I want and I'm dying to share some of it with you guys; so for now, I'm going to leave you a sneak peek of the main pieces in her room!

Here's her bed and bedding! We love how great the two go together!

Nursery Inspiration

One of the things that I've been looking forward to since I found out I was pregnant is decorating our baby's room. Shockingly enough, it's one of the things my husband couldn't wait to do either since he found out he was going to be a dad. Might I add, this is the first time he's ever shown interest in how the house is decorated other than he's the one who picked out our living room furniture because "he knew exactly what he wanted but just couldn't find it anywhere". lol So the fact that he was excited about it fueled my excitement even more.

Before we knew Harper was a girl, we picked out the furniture and chose the bedding sets that we liked for both a girl and a boy. Unfortunately, by the time we found out she was a girl, the bedding we had picked out was out of stock everywhere. So we had to start hunting again for something that we liked just as much. After surfing through hundreds (no lie) of bedding sets, we still couldn't find anything we liked. Then I started looking on roomzaar.com at baby nursery's in hopes of finding some custom made bedding that we liked. Lucky for me, I landed on this adorable nursery and fell in love with it. As soon as I saw it I showed it to Kevin and he fell in love with it too. He loved the use of the red as it's his favorite color and he felt like the colors blended with the rest of the colors in our home. So we decided that was the bedding for us. So then we started hunting for it; only to discover the bedding was two years old and wasn't sold online anywhere except for a store where it would cost close to $400! On a whim, I decided to check on ebay to see if anyone had a set and lucky for me, someone did. I was fortunate enough to find a lady who had bought the bedding set but hadn't used it. So after getting in a bidding war, I grabbed that bad boy for $65! Score!

Since her furniture and bedding were ordered last Friday and are officially on their way to our house, here is my inspiration for Harper doodle's nursery!

1. Here is Harper's gorgeous bedding. The set is called Delilah and is made by Cocalo Couture. It is just what Kevin and I were looking for. Both of us did not want a nursery that was "babyish". We wanted a nursery that was sophisticated that would grow with our child. We absolutely love the idea of using rich colors such as red, teal, yellow, and brown in the nursery instead of the traditional pink (which I'm not a fan of!).

2. I absolutely love her mobile! I think the birds are so cute and thankfully birds are a huge thing right now so it'll be easy to incorporate little trinkets and what not's into the room's decor.

3. I love floor length curtains so I definitely want to add them in Harper's nursery. I've been debating on what color to accent her room with but I think we've finally decided on red since it's her Daddy's favorite color!

4. For Harper's furniture, we chose to purchase the Simmons Adele Caffe collection from Babies R Us. I saw it back in November after I stopped in one day to kill some time before meeting a friend at a nearby restaurant. As soon as I saw the set sitting in the middle of the floor, I knew it was for Baby Holt!

5. I saw this cute monogram wall decal and I think it will be the perfect addition to go above Harper's bed! The bird will pick up perfectly from her mobile!

6. As a last minute decision, I chose not to purchase the lamp that matched Harper's bedding set. I was afraid that if I had too much of the bedding pattern in the room it would ruin the look. So I decided to look for a simple red lamp. I happened to find this one at Target and I thought it was simple, modern, and cute! I haven't purchased it yet but once we get the nursery together, I think I might just have to see if I can find a place for it (:

Well there's some of my inspiration. I got an email today that the furniture arrived at Babies R Us and Harper's bedding and mobile will be here by tomorrow according to the tracking number from UPS and FedEx. So check back sometime soon because I see lots of decorating in my weekend plans (:
