Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday ladies! I hope your weekends were splendid and your week is going swell. I woke up yesterday with fluid swishing in my forehead and ears. Not a good way to begin my week. Despite the joys fall brings, the seasonal change and allergies are one thing that I dislike about the season. Since I was a bit under the weather yesterday I didn't get around to sharing our weekend. Though truly, it was nothing much to brag about so I'll keep it short and sweet today.

My mother-in-law picked up Harper from daycare Friday so I could run home and get some cleaning done. Cleaning was my plan but after a long week at work, I was exhausted and opted to spend thirty minutes laying in bed reading a book before rolling out to grab Harp. After picking her up, we headed to a local restaurant for dinner with my parents, siblings, and the hubs.

Saturday morning we did the usual breakfast thing with my mom and dad since the hubs had to work yet another Saturday.

After breakfast, my sister and I headed to Greensboro to get in a little shopping. I ended up picking up a Ralph Lauren t-shirt, a blouse, and two puffer vests for right around $50. I'd say that was a bargain. We grabbed a late lunch at Steak and Shake and then headed home since Harper had missed her nap time and was quick to let us know she was DONE for the day. When the hubs got home from work, we headed to my in-laws. Since Kevin's dad is on night shift, my mother-in-law volunteered to watch Harper while we grabbed dinner with Kevin's brother and his girlfriend at Ruby Tuesday. After Harper's meltdowns for most of the afternoon due to her refusing to take a nap, I graciously accepted and we headed out to grab some steaks and salads. By the time we got back Harper was out and we weren't far behind her.

Sunday we did our usual routine of church and lunch with my family. After lunch, my friend Brittni, Harper, and I headed to Old Navy to grab Harper some fall clothes and grab some groceries at Target. Old Navy was running their baby sale and most items were 30% off. In addition to the sales, I had a $15 off $50 coupon so I ended up scoring Harper a fall wardrobe for less than $75. Here's some of my favorite finds. She's definitely going to be one fashionable lady this fall. Now my only question is, do these come in my size?

Well that pretty much sums up our weekend ladies. Nothing too exciting, but just what I needed after a long week at work! Hope to see you ladies tomorrow!

Baby Bargains

When moms say they'd rather spend money on their kids instead of themselves, they aren't kidding. Before Harper was born, I loved to shop for myself. I'd spend my entire Saturday perusing sales rack after sales rack looking for a good bargain. But once Harper doodle arrived,  that changed. I still shop just as often but instead of looking for bargains for myself, I head straight to the baby sections and look for bargains for our baby girl.

With the holiday sales going on over the weekend, I hit up quite a few stores and scored big time. As I've mentioned before, Harper has an abundance of clothes. However, she doesn't have many bigger sizes that would carry her over until next year. So with the summer clearance sales going on, I stocked up on items for Harper to wear next year. And by stocking up, I mean she has an entire wardrobe!

Here are some of the bargains I snatched up!

Carter's
I was a bit unimpressed with Carter's sales. Their fall stuff was actually on sale for less than a lot of the summer clearance items. But despite that fact, I snatched up a few cute items for Harper!
White blouse with khaki flowers: $5; Tees: $3; Yellow flamingo print shorts: $5; Turquoise knit shorts: $4; Romper: $6; Pajamas: $8

 Walmart
Summer dresses were on clearance for $3 each!

Peaches & Cream
They were clearing out their summer inventory to make room for the fall and winter things.
Outfits were $10 and bathing suits were $5

Oshkosh
Osh Kosh was by far my favorite bargain spot! And to think that I almost didn't stop there because usually their prices are sort of high. ha! The majority of their summer things were marked down from $2-$5 and you got an additional 30% off on top of that. And did I mention for every $50 you spent, you got a $10 off coupon? Told you I scored big! In addition to these outfits, I got two more shirts... all for a total of $57... $47 if you consider the $10 gift card!

Dress: $3; Tanks: $2; Blouses: $3; Tees: $2-4; Knit shorts: $2; Denim & Yellow Shorts: $4; Skirts: $2!!

Any of you other mamas find any bargains over the weekend? If so where? And for all of you mamas out there, most of these sales are still going on so be sure to check them out!

Weekend Bargains: All Things Baby

Over the weekend, I attended a large baby consignment sale with a friend of mine who just so happens to be a new mama. She blogs over here.  I went to the sale knowing that I probably wouldn't buy much since we haven't had a baby shower yet but I wanted to check out the sale for future reference; as they'll have another sale in the fall after Harper arrives. They had some pretty great deals on their items. Unfortunately, most everything had been picked over by the time we arrived, but it was still worth the trip! I scored a Munchkin dishwasher basket for $1 and they usually sell for $10.99. I also purchased a Munchkin warm glow wipe warmer for $5 and they usually retail for $25.99. Both items looked brand new! I did not register for either item because I was unsure if we'd use them or not and I hated the thought of our friends and family spending their hard earned money on items that we might not use. Needless to say, I felt pretty good about purchasing the items for such a low cost and if I find out I don't end up using them often, I haven't lost too much money!

Over the weekend, I also did a little clothing shopping for Harper. Over the last few weeks, I've been scouring the clearance racks at Belks for fall and winter clothes for little Harper Doodle. I've been trying to stock up on clothes for her for the end of the year since everyone will be giving us spring and summer clothing at our showers. Here are the items I've currently purchased for her! Most of the items I've only given $5 or $6 for but there are a few I splurged on and spent close to $10! Either way, I felt like it was still a bargain and it would beat us having to pay regular price for her fall and winter clothes come the end of the year when she needs them!
