One Year.

Today our precious baby girl turns one year old.  To think that she's been in our lives for 365 days seems almost unfathomable to me. When I think back over this last year I can't help but think that the year went by both so slow and so very fast. There were days that seemed as if they would never end and then there were days in which I wished I could hold onto forever. I did my best to savor the moments and soak them all up each day but when I look back it seems like they all occurred in just a blink of an eye. I can remember some days with vivid details whereas others are just a blur. But I do remember that each and every day was worth it. To go back to a life without Harper in it is something Kevin and I would never want to do.

Despite that I have varying emotions about her growing older, I can honestly say I've loved watching Harper develop her own personality and turn into her own person. I also have loved being right there with her experiencing each and every milestone by her side... from seeing her first real smile, hearing her first laugh, watching her learn to crawl, and seeing her take her first steps in front of my very own eyes. These are moments I'll cherish forever. Every milestone has brought so much happiness into our lives.

I'm reminded that each of these milestones means she's a little bit more independent and needs us a little bit less. But I'm thankful that we still have plenty of firsts in our future and many more milestones ahead. I'm looking forward to this next year of life and can't wait to see what Harper discovers she can do next!

    1. Thanks girl! I'm excited about her party. Here's to praying we have good weather here in NC. Of course it's my luck that this week has been beautiful and the only day they're calling for rain and storms is Saturday :(
