Fall Wreath: Best Friend Edition

My best friend, Alyson, recently moved to High Point, NC where she took a job as a second grade teacher. A few weeks after moving, she asked me to make her a wreath to hang on her and my cousin's front door. Being so near Halloween, she requested I make something that would work for Halloween but could also be used throughout the fall. Not really sure what to make, I pinned a few hundred (slight exaggeration) wreaths trying to find some inspiration. Lucky for me, Aly saw my pins and fell in love with one of them. So soon after, I set about making the wreath that she liked.

The wreath turned out absolutely perfect in my opinion. I ended up liking it so much that I think I'm going to be making my own self one to hang on our front door. It's the perfect Halloween wreath with just the right amount of "girlyness" to it!

Here it is on Alyson's front door with her fall pumpkins!
What do you think?!

Show & Tell: If...

I'm linking up with Becky over at From Mrs. to Mama today!
Link up with us!

1. If you could relive any memory in your life, tell us what it would be, and what/if anything you
would change about it?
If I could relive any memory within my lifetime, it would be mine and Kevin's wedding day. It was truly the best moment of my life so far. The day could not have been more perfect. I will never forget the look of Kevin's face when he caught sight of me walking down the aisle towards him. The thought brings tears to my eyes now. If I could change anything, it would have been to tell my photographer to snap that shot so that everyone could see it.
2. If you could be any celebrity or well-known person, show us who you would be.
Reece Witherspoon. She just seems so nice and fun!

3. If you won the lottery, tell us would take the lump sum or take the money overtime, would you continue working or quit right away, would you reveal who you are, and what are some of the first things you would spend with your money?
If I won the lottery, I definitely would not publicize it. After all, I don't want everyone I've ever spoken to coming up to me wanting a free handout! With that said, I'd also take the money overtime so that people wouldn't suspect anything. I'm not sure that I'd ever quit my job because I absolutely love teaching my third graders but I guess if we won big, I might would opt to stay home for a while with our future kiddos. As for what I'd spend the money on...my friends and family of course!

4. If you could live anywhere, show us where it would be and tell us why.
If Kevin and I could live anywhere, we'd live in the mansion below that was just built at the lake. I absolutely love spending my weekends at Belews Creek, NC at my family's vacation spot. One day, I'd like to move there. Kev would like to build a house and I think a lakefront home would do just the trick (: Unfortunately, I'd have to win the lottery to build a house like this!

5. If you could have one magic power, what would be and what would you do with it?
If I could have a special power, I'd want to read minds. It would make some things so much easier. For instance, I'd know what my little niece was thinking when she can't verbalize herself well. I'd know which of my students got something I taught and which ones didn't. And most of all, I'd know what that husband of mine was thinking half the time when he starts laughing and refuses to tell me what he was thinking! Men! haha

Check back next Monday for Show & Tell: When You Were 17...

Fall Wreath

Several months ago, I stumbled across the following wreath. Instantly, I fell in love with it. Why? Because it was my wedding colors! Not wanting to pay $34 for it, I set out to recreate it a few weeks ago and I'd say that it turned out pretty well!

Here is my version. I chose to do a different flower arrangement. I initially planned to pretty much steal borrow the crafter's idea but midway through, I had some inspiration pop into my head and decided to make it different. What do you think?

I think I like it, especially on my front porch!

PS- I'd say it's beginning to look like fall on our front porch! But give me another week and then we'll see!

Life Lately

Hi Ladies, I'm happy to report that I'm back from my latest blogging absence! Over the last few weeks, the hubs and I have been quite the little busy bees. In my absence, we have down a complete remodel of our living room, purchased a new bedroom suit and are in the process of redecorating the master bedroom and bathroom , hung our gallery wall, and we've began getting the house ready for fall! So check back this week for posts about our little house projects as well as my new craft projects and lots of OOTD's to share!

See you ladies tomorrow!
