{Weekend Recap} Day Dates, Play Dates, & Parties

Well, it's Thursday and I'm just getting around to sharing about our weekend. Oops. But in my defense, we've been having some fun this week so I haven't had time to sit down and share! But more on that later... On to our weekend before the next one gets here....

Friday evening, Kevin and I took Harper to our friend Brian and Stacey's to have pizza and a play date with their boys, Elijah and Griffin. Elijah's party was Sunday and they rented a giant water slide for the party. Since it was delivered early, we all got to enjoy it a head of time. I nearly had a heart attack watching my two year old go down it, but she loved it. The girl has no fear!

Saturday, my mother in law volunteered to watch Harper so Kevin and I could take a little road trip and have a day date. We ended up heading south to Charlotte.

 We started out our day date with a trip to Ikea where I picked up a few storage boxes for Harper's playroom and grabbed up a few decorations.

Afterwards, we made our way downtown to Southpark Mall.

I'd never been before but all of my friends who live locally said it's better than Concord Mills, the mall we typically frequent when we visit Charlotte. And I have to add, that they are right. It was much larger and had so many awesome stores. We ended up not browsing all the mall but we did manage to swing by Pottery Barn Kids and the American Girl store in search of Harper a few more goodies for Christmas (;

Before heading home, we swung by Nakatos, our absolute favorite Japanese place in the world, for dinner. Seriously, if you live in Atlanta, Ga, Myrtle Beach, SC, or Charlotte, NC, check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Sunday we ended up skipping out on church. Sad, I know. We really didn't have an excuse other than we were so exhausted from returning home late the night before. But we did end up eating a delicious lunch at my parents' house before we headed to Brian and Stacey's for Elijah's 5th birthday party... Monster truck style (:

Hope your weekend was filled with just as much fun!

  13. Even though I'm 22, any trip that includes a stop by American Girl is a winner for me! And now that I am edging on adulthood, Ikea always sounds pretty great too haha. ;)
