Boston's First Birthday Wishlist

With Boston's first birthday party taking place next Saturday, I thought I'd share some of the items on his "wishlist". You'll notice pretty quickly that there aren't many toys on his list. Having just celebrating Christmas, our little guy was blessed with SOOO many toys that we had to put many in storage to pull out as he tired of the ones in the house. That being the case, we hated the thought of people spending money on toys he just didn't need or wouldn't play with all that much. So in lieu of toys, we asked our friends and family to donate some things our little guy could actually use. I'm not sure how much he'll approve of this little list but his parents sure do appreciate it (; 

Rash Guards + Swim Trunks: Kevin's aunt has a pool and we have all intentions of spending our summer there. That said, our little guy will need quite a few swimsuits and the Cat and Jack line at Target sure doesn't disappoint.
Pajamas: At the end of last season, I scored big on Boston's wardrobe for this summer. I was able to grab tons of shorts and shirts for $1-$2 each piece. However, I didn't get my hands on any pajamas at the end of the season and considering our little guy is busting out of his current ones, I'd say it's definitely something he could use. I'm currently loving all of the three piece options Carter's has to offer. 
Camelbak Kids' Cups: Sippy cups are one of my biggest nightmares. They can't break easily; can't leak; and I like them to all be uniform so I know which pieces go with what. That being said, we decided to skip all of the stage sippy cups for our little guy and jump straight to the Camelbak and Contigo cups for kids. Harper has them and we LOVE them.
Baby Wipes, Diapers, Diaper Pail Refills: We can always use diapers, wipes, and genie refills! And it always makes me sad that no one thinks to give them after you actually have your baby. Any of you mamas feel the same way?
Police Car Cozy Coupe: It might be a toy, but his cozy coupe can be used outdoors. Harper got one for her first birthday and still uses it to this day. Since she has no intentions of sharing hers, and it happens to be pink, this police car themed cozy coupe is just perfect for our little man. And apparently some friends of ours think so too, because they've already purchased it :P
Target Gift Cards: We were blessed to have gotten a convertible car seat for Boston at one of our baby showers. However, we need another one for Kevin's car. Since we hate to ask for a car seat as a gift, gift cards work great to be combined to get our little guy a new seat. And if we get too many gift cards, we can definitely use them to purchase other items he'll be needing throughout the year. 

Well that's his list in a nutshell. We in no way expect our guests to bring our little guy something when they come to his party but so many people ask what he needs so hopefully putting together this little list will help. 

Harper's Christmas List

With Christmas just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share Harper's Christmas list. From the looks of it, you can guess Harp's been a very good girl this year. We're planning on sharing this list with Santa very soon but just in case he reads my blog, here's a heads up to the big guy. And don't worry Santa.. Kevin and I have got you covered already on a few of the bigger items so you don't have to sweat it (; 

Dodge Viper Battery-Powered Car- Harper absolutely loves her Cozy Coupe that she got for her birthday so when we saw this battery powered car at Target on clearance for just $50 we knew it was a must. It'll definitely save this mama's back as I spend countless hours a week pushing her little car up and down the driveway. I'm gonna love the fact that she can power this one on her own!

Learning Resources Smart Snacks Rainbow Color Cones, Counting Cookies, Number Pops, & Shape Sorting Cupcakes- Harper is in need of some toy food for her kitchen this Christmas and after seeing these sweet treats I couldn't help but think they needed to be on her list. I love that these sweet treats serve as not just toys but learning opportunities as well. 

Kidkraft Retro Kitchen- This little kitchen was intended to be a Christmas present for Harper but Kevin and I lucked up and found one brand new for half the cost on Craigslist over the summer. We had it sitting in the garage where it was supposed to stay until Christmas but after Harper caught sight of it, she got it a little early. Oops... 

RCA Tablet- Harper loves to play with my phone but I have to be very careful or she'll end up deleting valuable information or ordering music off of Itunes. Yes, it's happened before. Since she's becoming more and more interested in technology I'm pretty sure she'll love having her own personal tablet. Our first thought was to get her an IPAD mini but considering she might break it since she's still a toddler, we decided to hold off and go for a cheaper option that still has all the same bells and whistles. 

Toy Sports Ball Set- Harper loves to play with balls. Clearly she wants to be an athlete like her mommy and daddy (; She's constantly got a tennis ball in her hand throwing it to either Rimy or her daddy so when we saw this cute inflatable ball set, we knew she'd love it!

Little Mommy Doll- Harper doesn't own a baby doll. I'm not sure how that quite happened. I'm pretty sure most little girls should have their own doll by the time they are one. Mommy fail? Knowing that we're hoping to add another little baby to our home in the next year or so, I'm pretty certain a baby doll will be a good addition to Harper's toy collection. Let's just hope she likes it!

Fisher Price Servin' Surprises High Chair Set- Harper absolutely loves her space saver high chair. She is constantly going in the kitchen and wanting to climb up into it. When I saw this high chair for a baby doll, I thought it would be perfect for her to have. I can already see her sitting in her little high chair with this little chair right next to her! 

Little Tikes T-ball Set- For those of you who know my husband, this t-ball set needs no explanation. For those of you who don't know Kevin, he's held a ball and bat in his hand since he was just barely a toddler. Considering he still playing softball, he has high hopes for our little girl that she'll follow in his footsteps so this was his first pick for her Christmas list!

Fur Real Friends Get Up and Go Walking Dog- If you read my blog often, you might remember this little guy. A few weeks ago we were visiting Target and they had some of their toys out of the box on display for kids to play with. My mom thought it would be cute to let Harper play with this little stuffed dog. It was cute until we had to hand it back to the sales lady. Needless to say, we knew this was Harper's first pick pretty quickly. This girl loves her "roo roos". (her version of dogs!)

Hetty Little Helper Cleaning Trolley and Mop- My child definitely got a bit of her mama's ocd ways. She loves to help me pick up and clean the house. I'm pretty sure that she'll love her own cleaning supplies considering how much she loves mine!

Teepee- If you've been following Harper's playroom series, you'll know that I have intentions of putting a teepee in her playroom. Since these are super expensive, I decided to help Santa out a little and make one myself (; Let's hope it turns out as good as I think it will! Otherwise Santa... I may need your last minute help!

Pottery Barn Mini Backpack- Now that Harper is a bit bigger, we don't need her diaper bag as much as we once did. After seeing this cutie, I thought it would make a nice replacement. It's large enough to hold a few diapers, some snacks, and a sippy cup which seems to be all that Harp needs these days. 

Well that's it Santa. Hope we didn't make it too hard on ya this year! What's on your little one's list this year?

{Link Up} Christmas Wish List 2014

Well ladies, it's that time of year again. Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer all playing on repeat. Newspapers packed with advertisements. Twinkling lights and greenery everywhere. A multitude of red and green and all things sparkly. You know it... it's Christmas and it's by far my favorite holiday of the year! Now don't get me wrong, I know we haven't gotten to Thanksgiving yet. I don't plan to skip it by any means. I'm all about some homemade food, a multitude of desserts, and stories being swapped between family and friends. That's what it's all about ladies, that's what it's all about. But I'm not going to lie and say that Christmas doesn't have it's perks. Waking up Christmas morning to see what's under my tree hasn't gotten any less exciting with age I'll tell ya that. So what do I hope to find under my tree this year... here's my wish list. 

Zara Blanket Scarf
I have absolutely fallen in love with my two Zara blanket scarves. This fall I purchased the tan tartan plaid and the black plaid. After seeing this autumn blend blanket scarf, I knew I had to add it to my collection as well. I intended to wait until Christmas to see if Santa brought it to me but I just couldn't wait until then so I may or may not have purchased this already for a Christmas gift to myself. You ladies do that too, right?

Story of my life. So why not advertise it proudly with this cute baseball tee and a pair of leggings? I think so my friends. I think so.

Monogrammed Rain Coat
This has been on many of my wish lists throughout this year but I've yet to pull the trigger on it. I figured why not add it to my Christmas wish list. Someone may get it for me, someone may not. But I can promise you this. If it's not under the tree, it'll definitely be in my closet by Spring!

Hunter Boot Socks
As many of you know, I really debated long and hard on whether or not to purchase my Hunter rain boots this fall. Forking out $150 for a pair of rain boots wasn't necessarily an easy decision but it was one I made regardless.  After having them for a couple of months now, I'm not sure why I ever debated the issue. I am in LOVE with my boots and seriously am considering purchasing another pair in navy or red. I wear them constantly. They are super comfortable to be a bulky shoe and they keep my feet nice and toasty. Since I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing them almost daily come this winter with all the snow that's predicted, I definitely want some of these adorable fleece and cable knit boot socks to rock with them.

Tan Suede Ankle Boots
Hello, my name is Sara and I have a boot buying problem. I just can't get enough of them. Because of this I steer clear of boot aisles at shoe stores but after seeing these cute babies at Old Navy... well, I need them! I don't own a single pair of ankle boots and since these are less than $40 I think it's not too much to ask for...

Monogrammed Ballet Flats
As a teacher, flats happen to be my best friend. When I caught sight of these cute flats with a monogram, it was love at first sight! I'll take them in any color.

Willow Tree Nativity Scene
I've never really been a person who collected things but after seeing Kevin's aunt's Willow Tree nativity scene collection, I have to admit that the idea of collecting this beauty definitely came to mind. I absolutely love nativity scenes. The story they share is one that everyone must know. They tell the story of our precious Lord and Savior and how He came to earth so that he could save us. A love like that can't even be described. The fact that this nativity scene is a neutral color that can be displayed all year long is the reason I have to have this one. Unfortunately, I can't spend $600+ to have the whole thing. So my plan is to ask for pieces each Christmas until I've completed the set. This Christmas my plan is to just get the basic 6 piece nativity set. I plan to display it in a glass cloche on my mantle. Needless to say, it'd be nice if Santa somehow dropped this off early... as in right about the time we pull out our Christmas decor (;

Fall Fashion Must-Haves

Fall is finally here and this girl feels like it's Christmas. Not really, but you catch my drift. In honor of this much anticipated season, I want to share my five, fall fashion must-haves. Over the last month or so I've been eyeing the new fall clothing, shoes, and accessories that have been coming in and out of the stores. There are so many items that I'm dying to add to my closet right now but as a mama on a teacher's budget, my needs are far outweighing my wants so I'm having to keep my list narrow. But you best believe these five things are making their way into my shopping cart over the next few weeks (if they haven't already...shhh, don't tell the hubs). 

1. Plaid Blanket Scarf

Last year I fell in love with the plaid Zara blanket scarf that was making it's debut all over the internet world, pinterest, and blog community. I thought it was the perfect fall statement piece. Unfortunately, everyone else thought so too because they sold out in no time. When I found out they were going to be restocked this year I was stoked and was determined to grab one up. But yet again, I wasn't fast enough and they were all gone. So what did this little mama do? She went looking for an alternative and I scored big. I grabbed up this almost identical one off of Ebay for $12.99 (shipping included!). That's a bargain my friends! 

2. Herringbone Vest

I have been in love with the infamous quilted herringbone J. Crew vest since it first came out last fall. But I just never could quite pull the trigger on paying $140 for it. Afterall, that's a week of Harper's daycare or a trip to the grocery store. That's how I reason my purchases my friends... as to what bills I could pay instead of buying it. But thanks to it's growing popularity, many boutiques are offering knock-offs that are nearly identical and this girl is grabbing one up. I found this one at 261 Boutique for $58. 3. Dome Handbag

Every year I buy two hand bags, exactly two. I always purchase one in the spring and one in the fall and let them each carry on into the next season. After seeing all of the new bags in the stores over the last month I knew immediately that I wanted a dome handbag. Originally I had fallen in love with this red London fog dome handbag that I ended up picking up at Marshalls for just $40.  But after seeing this cheetah print and patent leather dome handbag, I'm rethinking my choices. 

4. Lilly Pulitzer Monogram Pullover

In the fall, my wardrobe consists of hoodies with yoga pants or leggings. When I saw these adorable monogram half zip pullovers, I knew it was the perfect item to add to my weekend attire. You can find them all over Etsy. The one below is from The Pinky Girl and they sell for just $36!

5. Hunter Boots

I know you've seen these on my blog time and time again. Over the last year I've been wanting to add these babies to my closet but I just couldn't make myself fork out $150 for a pair when Target carries a similar pair for just $45. But after trying on a coworker's pair and getting a 30% coupon for Piperlime, these babies are going to be coming home with me come October. I decided that if I'm going to be wearing them most of the winter, I'd rather invest in a good pair that will last me a few years. At least, that's what I'm telling myself!

Christmas in July Wishlist

While this month doesn't exactly scream Christmas like it does in December, Christmas in July is right up my alley. I love watching the holiday movies all over again on Hallmark and ABC family. It makes me long for the days where I can curl up on the couch with my little family in a pair of sweatpants, with a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate, and a holiday movie on the television screen. I can see it now...But if I was honest, when that time gets here again, I'll be talking about how I long for the days of sunshine and summertime, tank tops and shorts, and dinners on the porch. Any of you ladies constantly wishing for the opposite weather or is it just me?

Anyways, since today technically marks "Christmas Eve" in July I thought it would be fun to put together a little wishlist per say. I've been lusting over these items over the past few months and hopefully come Christmas when I do my real Christmas wish list, I'll have already added most of these items to my closet :P But then again, that's just wishful thinking (;

* London Fog Dome Handbag- Despite not being a huge fan of the color red when it comes to my wardrobe, I am in love with this poppy colored handbag. It's the perfect late summer/ early fall color. Among that the size is perfect for both my things as well as few of Harper's. You know you mamas carry sippy cups and snacks in your purses as well (; 

* Black Gloss Hunter Boots- I love, love, love these boots. I've been wanting them for over a year now and this year I have to have them. I just don't want to fork out the $100+ dollars for them. But as my coworker stated, my feet won't grow anymore in my lifetime (at least I hope not) so why not splurge. After all the black isn't trendy and I can wear them year after year in rain or snow. Right? 

* Monogram Half Zip Hoodie- Hands down the perfect piece to pair with my leggings in the early fall. I can see myself wearing it every Saturday!

* Monogram Rain Jacket- I carry a coat every where I go. No lie. The problem is I don't really have any lightweight jackets so I'm thinking this would be absolutely perfect for those warm summer days that transition into cooler nights. 

* Kendra Scott Earrings- I'm beginning to fall in love with statement earrings and I think these are the perfect ones to start my new collection! 

* Elephant Monogram Bracelet- I have a slight obsession with elephants. By slight I mean I only buy every other thing that I see with elephants on it. When I saw this bracelet and saw that it was also paired with my other obsession of monograms, I knew it had to be for me!
